7th | Video + Action | Route 36

[When the feed opens, you first see an Eevee. He's snuggling against Shiraishi who's trying to keep the camera steady. Behind him you can see a small camping site on some route. Once the camera is well enough, he'll speak.]

It seems that Ai Hidaka has been sent home. I got her Eevee this morning before leaving Violet. [The Eevee makes a sad sound, but also pushes his head a little against Shiraishi's chest, to comfort him. Shiraishi pets him.] I think I've already lost count on how many have left that I've known... but I'm sure they're all happy to be home with their friends and family. Who knows, they might even come back one day and then we'll have a reunion.

[There's a smile on his face. He's sad about all of them, of course, but he's not letting it show too much. He needs to be strong and keep his emotions in control. If not for himself, then for his friends and the Pokémon. Especially since the Eevee was so young.]

I decided it's time for me to continue traveling so I'm heading towards Ecruteak next. I didn't challenge the Violet Gym yet, because I'm thinking about trying the Kanto gyms first once I've traveled through Johto.

[Which might take a while because of Shiraishi's excellent sense of direction, but he has all the time in the world, right?]

Though I do have a question. Where do you think should I go after reaching Ecruteak? According to the map there's two different paths: one to Mahogany Town and one to Olivine City. Which of those should I see first?

Oh I know! If you go to Ecruteak you can get Surf there, then go to Olivine city so you can surf over to Cianwood.

Cianwood is where you get Fly.

Ah, so that's the logical route. [Or the road that someone who'd do the challenge would use.] Though I don't really need Fly, since i have one Pokémon that can do that, but Surf would be useful.

Is there any other way to get to Cianwood, if you don't have Surf?

If you have Fly then you could just fly over.

Can I do that even if I haven't been there before?

I don't know, actually. Maybe you could if you had a map.

Olivine is a pretty city, not to mention the way there is very relaxing. _{[Angry Tauros incidents aside.]}

I guess... though flying and reading the map at the same time sounds risky.

Yeah, it's pretty easy. Plains and flat land and a direct road right into town. There's a lot of farms around there too.

That does sound really relaxing. Interesting too, since I've never really been to a farm before.

There is a ferry in Olivine but I don't know where it goes though, since I didn't take it.

It would be logical if it went to Cianwood... but I don't really trust this world's logic so much. [It's failed him too many times.] Though going to Olivine in general might be good. It's been a while since I've seen the ocean.

You'll love it the the view is really pretty.

Ai-chan's gone home?

[Ryo wanted to believe otherwise, but knowing the nature of this place made that difficult...]

I was wondering where she went when I couldn't find her anywhere, and why I had a Goldeen in my PC Box.

I'm sure I'll enjoy it there. So far this whole has been really nice, in terms of scenery.

I'm afraid so. I don't think there's any other reason we would get her Pokémon, especially if you can't find her.

[Shiraishi did try to reach her gear earlier, but the number wasn't found, but that could have been a malfunction... but if she's nowhere to be found, it's highly unlikely she's still in Johto.]

[So she really is gone... Ryo feels his heart sink a bit. Suddenly, the world felt a lot quieter. Way too quiet. It's not quite the same without her boundless energy.

Yeah. Nice to meet you, I'm Ryo Akizuki... I work with Ai-chan in the same company, and you could say that I'm sort of her guardian here. Thank you for being nice to Ai-chan. [A slight bow.]

It's nice to meet you too, Akizuki-san. I'm Shiraishi Kuranosuke. [He'll bow slightly as well.] And it was a pleasure... I mean, she was also really nice to me as well every time we talked.

What's wrong with Mahogany?

Oh... Right, you have that covered. Good for you, but at least make sure that it lets you fly with it.

UMMMM. I have a personal grudge sort of thing against it. When I first came to this world, I ... sort of woke up in Mahogany instead of New Bark, and then I had to stay there for I don't even want to remember how long in the middle of pokemon who were difficult to beat with my pokemon.

So, I just -- really don't ... have many good memories of that place.

You can't miss them, they are everywhere. I think there's a few where you can stop and rest, if I recall correctly.

[Wait... what.]

You started in Mahogany Town? [That can't be normal, right?] Though I can understand why that would be difficult and give bad memories, yes. At least you had a better start this time?

Resting at a place like that might be nice, especially if the road to Olivine is long. [Thinking.] Going to Olivine sounds like the better choice.

I-It's where all Rockets start, or used to start or still start, I don't even know...

Though yeah, bad memories from there and good memories from the way I started this time. I always wanted to be a breeder here, really.

Yeah, she has a habit of doing that, no matter who the person is...

[It kind of makes Ryo worry sometimes, really.]

How did you meet her?

It's a good habit to have. Though it might also get her you in trouble, but... at least there are friends to help through those? [A small smile.]

I talked to her when she first arrived, though we didn't meet face to face until about two months ago.

So you were in Team Rocket when you were here? [He hasn't been actively talking about the team, but he's seen and heard a lot of it. Not impressed. Not at all.] You can be forced to start as one of them?

[He can't even imagine what would have happened if he had started out as a Rocket. Obviously he wouldn't have survived too long.]

I was... Though I never did anything related to their work. [Except heard them talking about stuff and was on duty to tell either Ed or Roy about it?!] I -- think it's about as random as who disappears next? I wasn't forced to it, I just woke up in there and was supposed to be one of them. [So they might have a lot of members, who don't want to be in there. And she can really, really really sympathize with that.

It's the best career here for a girl like me, really. I think it's kind of my work at home too, where my work is to help people to be able to do things themselves and protect themselves if something happens...

[Well, sort of. Ed fights a lot and normal people are able to run with their limbs and do normal, every day life because of them... And here she breeds pokemon to be their friends and protect them and be there for them and... uh, yes best career okay.]

It takes a little more than a week, but I recommend it.

I know that we only got acquainted since we both know Ai-chan, but you seem like a really good person. I wouldn't mind if we talked more and got to know each other better. I'm sure she would like that too.

That doesn't sound so bad. [It might even be fun, even if he'd be alone. Last time he traveled that long he was with someone... but he'd be alright.] That's definitely a good choice. I'll see what other opinions I get, but now I'm interested in going to that direction.

Well, some might not be so lucky to avoid Rocket business, even if they wouldn't want to do it. [He sighs.] This world really has a few nasty tricks on its sleeves.

[Though he nods at the career choice talk.]

Mm. It seems like you really got a good job... and I'm sure you'll do brilliantly in it.

[The good memories. At least it makes him feel a little better, thinking about Ai-chan with happy thoughts.]

Everyone can try to run away from it, or quit it and do some dish washing and other work at inns and other places to make up for it. [She sighs too. Well, she had to go to jail because she was one of them, but...] Yeah, bad things happen sometimes... I'm glad it's just 'sometimes' though.

I play tennis as my main hobby, but also a little big of chess. What about you?

Mm. I hope that's the case and no one's really doing bad things even if they don't really want to. [He sighs. Johto why are you so mean.

I don't know... I guess they don't really have the power to force anyone to do anything, what with no knowledge about the people who come from different worlds. [So they won't know their weaknesses and that way they can't use their weaknesses against them... Talking from experience here, okay. ~~Except some Rockets know her, but shhhhhhh, she's not sure that they're part of TR.~~]

Just don't leave your Pokémon by themselves for too long and you'll be fine. A good lesson I learned.

Yeah, I've heard about that. And also had some Pikachu eggs looong time ago, back when I was still here for the first time ever. See, this is why everyone should get an Audino! Not only are they amazing Pokémon, but they also learn the move called Attract ...No one in their right or insane minds would leave any Pokémon party alone with an Audino who uses it as a way to say hello to everyone.

...Okay, maybe some people would, but I'm not one of them.

[He can't help it since Winry's so cute.]
